Heat Pumps
One system for heating AND cooling.
A heat pump is the cleverest comfort investment you can make: one quiet outdoor unit that heats in winter and cools in summer by moving heat instead of burning fuel. Today's heat pumps stay efficient even in cold Indiana winters — and pair beautifully with a furnace in a hybrid system for the best of both worlds.
The benefits
Incredible efficiency
Heat pumps move heat rather than generate it, delivering up to 3 units of warmth for every unit of electricity used.
Year-round comfort
One system handles both heating and cooling — no separate furnace and AC to maintain.
Works in cold weather
Modern cold-climate heat pumps keep heating efficiently well below freezing, with electric or gas backup for the coldest stretches.
Lower year-round bills
Many households cut total energy costs by replacing aging electric heat or oil with an efficient heat pump.
Is it right for you?
If any of these sound familiar, it may be time for a closer look.
- You want heating and cooling from a single system
- You're replacing both a furnace and AC at once
- You have electric or oil heat and want lower bills
- You like the idea of an efficient, lower-emission home
- You want quiet outdoor operation and even temperatures
How it works
It finds heat in the air
Even in winter, outdoor air holds heat. The pump's refrigerant absorbs that heat from outside.
It compresses and concentrates it
The compressor squeezes the refrigerant, raising its temperature significantly.
It brings warmth inside
The hot refrigerant flows to the indoor coil, and your blower circulates the warmed air through your home.
In summer, it simply reverses
Flip the thermostat to cooling and the same system pulls heat out of your home and releases it outside.
